This unique edition is devoted to the 100th anniversary of the Russian Air Force. The theme of the battles in the sky of Korea in 1950-1953, where the Soviet pilots of the 64th IAC Air Defense reached in an unequal confrontation with the pilots of the US Air Force, in the domestic literature it is just beginning to reveal. For political reasons, the glorious page of the history of the Russian Air Force of Russia almost half a century was hidden from the Russians themselves.
The few memoirs of the fighting participants in the sky of the country of morning freshness, published only relatively recently, are devoted mainly to the initial period of the air war. The collection "224th IAP in the Korean War" is the first edition of the Soviet pilots who ended with this war. It consists of two parts.
The first part is the autobiographical story of the Volgograd writer Lion Petrovich Kolesnikova, written back in 1970, but published already many years after his death. Its with full right can be attributed to the number of the best artistic works devoted to the topic of participation of Stalin Sokolov in the Korean War of 1950-1953. This is written by a light and alive language of the memoirs of the ordinary pilot, who passed through the burned war, in which the Soviet Union was not officially participating. The second part is a brief history of the fighting of the 224th JEAP 32th Jaad, where L.P. Kolesov, prepared by the air war researchers in Korea Igor Ataevich Seidovo and Sergey Gennadyevich Vakhrushev.
It includes complementary memoirs of L.P. Kolesnikov"s memories of other veterans of the 224th IAP, excerpts from archival documents, graphic reconstruction of aircraft in the unconventional parties, the necessary comments and applications. Based on media materials, as well as data provided by foreign historians, some legends of this war, generated by Western propaganda over the years of half a century silence of "countries of the Communist Block".
