The 3rd edition of the monograph "Ultrasound in Gynecology" covers all the main issues of ultrasound diagnostics in gynecology that a doctor examining the pelvic organs of women in outpatient practice and gynecological hospital encounters daily. Additions have been made based on the results of our own scientific research, as well as the experience of leading laboratories in the world and our country in recent times. Special attention is paid to standardization issues in the examination of the myometrium, endometrium, and ovaries, based on recommendations from international expert groups. New chapters have been written on the postpartum period in normal and complicated cases, ultrasound monitoring during both medical abortion and vacuum aspiration, as well as post-abortion and post-operative complications, including the issue of uterine scarring.
Each chapter consists of a brief etiopathogenetic section, with detailed coverage of ultrasound diagnostics, including color mapping data, Dopplerometry, new, less common techniques, and differential diagnostic criteria. Each chapter is illustrated with a large number of sonograms showing typical and atypical images of the pathology being discussed. The diagnostic capabilities of ultrasound, color mapping, and Dopplerometry are defined in all the gynecological sections covered. New directions in diagnosis and treatment introduced into gynecological practice in recent years are presented. The appendix includes tables of all normative parameters, as well as protocols for ultrasound examination of the pelvic organs and hysterosalpingoscopy.
