Romena Teodorovna Avgustova is the author of a unique methodology for teaching speech, reading, and writing to children with intellectual disabilities. The main group of her students are children with Down syndrome. However, this methodology has also helped children with other diagnoses learn to speak. Working with these children is done in close collaboration with parents, to whom the author addresses her book.
