The monograph is the first experience of understanding the Slavic dialect continuum, taking into account topographic and linguistic criteria. It is devoted to theoretical problems of linguistic geography related to the interpretation of a linguistic map in order to determine the chronotopo-isogloss.
The monograph is based on the materials of the Slavonic Linguistic Atlas, which ensures the reliability and accuracy of the results obtained. The identified lexical isoglos is interpreted by the author in genetic, arral and typological aspects.
Analyzing the maps of the Lingolian Linguistic Atlas", the author proves that in the historical development of Slavic dialect continuing, three factors played an important role - the factor of genetically inherited, the factor of the universal-typological and factor of contact convergence. This conclusion, supported by an extensive material, made it possible to identify a complex picture of the aureal relations of Slavic dialects.
