Kuzma Sergeevich Petrov-Vodkin is one of the largest and original Russian artists of the beginning of the 20th century. In his art, they were connected to a strong knot, seemed far from each other artistic trends. His works caused violent controversy, passionate collisions often directly opposite opinions and estimates - from enthusiastic praise to contemptuous ridicule. It was a difficult person, but at the same time solid and, undoubtedly, the multilaterally gifted. Petrov-Vodkin successfully combined both types of art in his life, developing and complementing each other. His literary creativity was largely picturesque, and the visual arts, on the contrary, is verbally explainable.
