Ilya Ilf (Ilya Arnoldovich Finezilberg, 1897-1937) and Evgeny Petrov (Evgeny Petrovich Kataev, 1903-1942) - Authors of outstanding satirical works that could not leave any reader indifferent. They were repeatedly reprinted, translated into many foreign languages, as well as shielded and staged. Roman "Twelve Chairs" (1928), telling about the Soviet reality of the twentieth years of the last century, is the first significant joint work of writers.
