Tuva. Culture Dictionary (+2CD)

This dictionary is the first edition of this kind, both in Russian and in foreign historiography. A dictionary made in alphabetical order contains the basic concepts and personalities of the Tuvinian material and spiritual culture from antiquity to the present. His goal is to enable fast and holistic entry into the specifics of Tuva. This is a kind of brief cultural guidebook in the republic located in the very center of Asia and a little known to the Russians and Europeans. Along with the families familiar to Russian cultural studies and historiography, Tuvinian concepts, key for one or another sphere are revealed - from music to cooking. Moreover, besides their definition and short history, quotes are examples from folklore, epos, shaman or Buddhist mythology.
