The work dedicated to the Tungus-Manchurian peoples of Siberia and the Russian Far East implies the completion of volumes on the indigenous peoples of the North of the Russian Federation in the series "Peoples and Cultures." The collective monograph presents the cultures of all Tungus-Manchurian peoples of Russia. The book is divided into two main parts. The first part reflects the extremely vast Tungus-Manchurian world of Siberia and the Russian Far East in historical times, both in terms of space and ideological depth. Based on materials from archaeology, linguistics, pantheon, sacred visual and musical arts, and other traditional knowledge, a picture of worldview, social relations, and pages of early history of Tungus-Manchurian communities is constructed. The second part of the monograph includes separate chapters on the nine Tungus-Manchurian peoples living in Russia: the Evenks, Evens, Negidals, Ulta (Orochons, Oroks), Nanais, Ulchs, Udegeys, Orochs, and Tazas. The work provides a characterization of the modern and traditional culture of all Tungus-Manchurian peoples of Russia based on a comprehensive approach. This allowed for summarizing modern ethnological achievements in the study of individual Tungus-Manchurian peoples, identifying gaps and achievements, and setting new research tasks in their study.

For ethnologists, anthropologists, historians, and a wide range of readers.
