The action of the mechanism of self-regulation is considered in conditions of social uncertainty inherent in transforming societies. The substantiation of trust as a phenomenon of social reality is given, the sociological interpretation of the concept of uncertainty. The concept of confidence in the mechanism of self-regulation of social interactions is being developed. Considerable attention is paid to the relationship between trust and distrust, the transition process from one state to another. The empirical testing of developed theoretical approaches is carried out on the example of a modern transforming Ukrainian society. Based on the results of a sociological study, features of the institutional, sociocultural, stratification, socio-organizational self-regulation of trust are analyzed. The impact of confidence and distrust as the factors of self-regulation of social interactions are investigated. The analysis done in the book made it possible to obtain a reasonable answer to the question: why no peace in Ukraine? For students, graduate students, scholars, social workers and politicians, as well as for a wide range of readers interested in this problem
