The book M.M. Bakunina was published in 1902 and since then did not reissued, becoming genuine bibliographic rarity. The author was the first and only Russian citizen in 1894-1899 in 1894-1899. The position of the Russian consul under the Dutch administration in Batavia (now - Jakarta) Bakunina"s notes, compiled mainly from the reports of the Russian Foreign Ministry, combine immediate impressions with the study of numerous works of Western European authors.
