The story of the tragic love of Tristan and Isolde is a famous wandering plot, popular in the Middle Ages and still attracting people of the arts. In reality, it has many parallels in ancient, ancient Eastern, Caucasian (and not only) legends, dating back to ancient times. The authors of a collective monograph, first published in 1932, tried to trace and understand these parallels and roots.
