The leadership is an analytical review of modern methods of treatment of schizophrenia, supplemented by data obtained by the authors in their own research. Based on the literary sources of recent years, a differentiated model of therapy is proposed depending on the stage of the process, its form and severity. The main stress is made on the use of the entire spectrum of antipsychotic agents (both typical and atypical), their comparative efficiency and safety in various situations are discussed. The side effects of drugs and measures of their prevention are carefully analyzed. Particular attention is paid to the psychological aspects of the interaction of the doctor and the patient, as well as compliance. A separate chapter is devoted to combined pharmacotherapy. Recommendations are given on the use of antipsychotics during pregnancy, in the elderly and children.
