In postmodern culture, there is a concept of double coding. This technique is used already in the very name of the autobiographical novel by Vladimir Videmann, where the word “snow” has two connotations: as a form of atmospheric precipitation and as a slang name of cocaine. “White Snow of Colombia” is a work as a whole purely postmodernist, where not only double coding is present, but also other key tricks of this genre.
The specifics of the book is that it is written not by a tourist, but by a person who deeply plunged into local realities. “White Snow of Colombia” is a kind of guide in inaccessible places and exotic planets still the mysterious space of the American continent. University professors and right -wing intellectuals, drug lords and communist rebels, Indian magicians and Jewish Kabbalists, politicians and businessmen, bohemia and beggars - all these types are deployed in the novel, forming the indescribable play of the meanings of the multi -century cultural reality of Latin America
