In 1898, three Cossacks went on a trip by rail, then by sea through Ceylon, Indochina, Japan to Vladivostok to check the existence of the Belovodsk kingdom, a mythical country of abundance, freedom and confession of an old, genuine faith. One of the Cossacks keeps a track diary in which the reader reveals a conflict between the biblical tradition and the evolution of the world at the very end of the 19th century.
In 1903, the diary of G. T. Khokhlova was first published by the writer V. G. Korolenko.
"preparing [the book] for printing, I only allowed myself, to facilitate reading, to break the text into the chapter and provide chapters with a list of content. Then I corrected all purely grammatical errors in writing words and arranged punctuation and paragraphs. Otherwise, I retained in inviolability a peculiar and often very expressive, with all the wrongness of the author’s syllable. ""
