The author of the book, the Italian Stefano Medvedich, studied Russian and literature at the University, worked at the school of a French teacher. During the school holidays, he made long trips, drove through the Vespa scoop all Russia from Western borders to Vladivostok. In his country, he gained fame due to the fact that he described how he drove the entire North Africa from Mauritania to Western Sahara on a motor skirt.
