Igor Rotar is an analyst journalist, reporter, columnist. He worked as a military correspondent in all wars of the former USSR.
In your hands - notes of a wandering reporter from both continents of the Western hemisphere. Sketches about life in the USA: work, rest, interethnic relations, religion, migration, religion, protection of cultural heritage and nature, etc.
Having moved to live in the USA, I deliberately did not lead the life of a typical local layman. I earned a living by writing articles in different media, arranging lecture tour at various American universities, and sometimes not even disdaining "bombing" at Uber. Such a life had huge advantages - I was not attached to one place and could afford long trips throughout the country. I often spent the night in a tent, met with many people, including homeless and downshifters. I lived in Indian reservations and in a remote village in the Alaskan taiga, achievable only on a boat or an airplane.
Of course, this book describes not only extreme America. I sought to show as many faces as possible to American life. The chapter on Mexico is also not accidental. Previously, this country belonged to all the southern states of the United States, and today the south of America is Mexicanized "again. Today, the Mexicans are an ethnic majority in many border areas and almost completely monopolized the market of unskilled labor
