Vsevolod Vladimirovich Ovchinnikov is an international journalist, a writer who has worked in China, Japan, and England for many years. A new direction in domestic journalism is associated with his name - the creation of a psychological portrait of a foreign society. The author’s creative credo: “To convince the reader that you can’t measure someone else"s life on your arshin, you cannot rely only on the usual system of values and criteria, because they are by no means universal, like the grammatical norms of our native language.”
In 1985, the author was awarded the USSR State Prize for the book "Sakura and Oak".
In 2010, the President of the Russian Federation handed Vsevolod Ovchinnikov the Order for Merit to the Fatherland "fourth degree.
Dilogy "Ascension to Shambhala" and "with his own eyes" describes the author’s travels from New Zealand to Peru from the mid-50s of the XX century to this day.
In 1955, he became the first Russian to get into Tibet on the newly laid road. Four decades later, he once again visited Tibet.
The author shares personal impressions of different countries so that the reader can feel the atmosphere of each of them
