In this monograph, for the first time in domestic translation studies, a comprehensive theory of the aporia of 'translatability - untranslatability' is described as an integral part of modern translation science. It shows how the innovative 'discursive-game paradigm of translation' based on the author's 'cognitive-hermeneutic methodological standard' optimally facilitates the implementation of any kind of interlingual mediation. Real ways to achieve a communicative-translation result are established, based on the organic combination of 'regular translation-language correspondences' of all degrees with a 'free set' of personal-manipulative methods and techniques of quasi-translation by neutralizing the 'untranslatabilities' of originals of various text types and their genres on the material of a number of European and Eastern languages with the aim of achieving 'foreignized' or 'domesticated' communication.
The work is intended for specialists in the field of translation studies and related social-humanitarian sciences, postgraduate students, master's students, and students of linguistic universities, as well as all individuals interested in translation issues.
