Torvald Wanderer is a legendary Christian missionary, hero of Icelandic sag. Information about it is fragmentary, but even on them it is clear that we are dealing with an outstanding personality. In his youth, leaving the native island, he served Sneu Wiloborod, the future king of Vikings, but, having acquainted with Christianity, left a military craft, went to Iceland and built there the first Christian church. Then he was started in a wander around the world, it was quite likely to witness the Baptism of Rus Prince Vladimir and got to Constantinople, and on the way back, he founded the monastery of John the Baptist in Polotsk, where he died and was buried. Based on that little, which is known about Torvalde Wanderer, Aurge Bergmann gives his version of his full adventure of life and reconstructs the events of the second half of the X century in the form of a novel that gives his book a special attractiveness.
