Tongue of church

Conference "Language of the Church", organized by the Holy Filaret MVPHSh, magazine of the Academy of Sciences of the Russian Federation "Russian Speech", magazines "Bulletin of the RCHD" and "Continent", was held in Moscow from September 22 to 24, 1998. Conference participants, philologists, philosophers , historians and culturologists, clergy and laity from 13 dioceses of the Russian Orthodox Church, as well as from 16 countries of near and far abroad (more than 900 people, including about 30 clergy), examined this problem from different sides and points of view for the modern church. They openly and sharply spoke of the language of the Church as the language of worship and as the language of love and communication with God and man, as the ongoing Pentecost and the media of the spirit and meaning of the Church
