The collection includes twelve Norwegian fairy tales and legends collected by one of the Norwegian Brothers Grim by Peter Kristen Asbiernsen. Together with the Yorgen Mu (the second "brother"), they traveled around the country, diligently chose and recorded national original stories, and then they retell their reader - in the form, in which they received them from the narrator, "not dropping a single circumstance and without changing Unified Event ". Jacob Grimm, reading these fairy tales, wrote that they are "real miracle, replenishment of the treasury of world literature. In Russian, the fairy tale retold Alexander Lubarskaya.
