The novel "To Disappear, Like with a Muse" is a creative biography of the famous St. Petersburg writer Valery Popov, in which the author not only shares the story of his life but also reveals the secret of finding happiness. Leaving a house resembling a mysterious castle in Sapper Lane, the reader, along with the main character of the book, will walk through the streets of post-war Leningrad, move to the legendary Writer's House on Kutuzov Embankment, visit the editorial offices and literary associations of leading Soviet publishers, attend a cheerful festive feast at the restaurant of the "European" hotel, meet Andrei Bitov, Vasily Aksenov, Sergei Dovlatov, Joseph Brodsky, and other writers and poets of the second half of the twentieth century, peek into the literary circle of LETI and the screenwriting department of VGIK, travel to Europe and America, and in the spring of 2020 return to St. Petersburg with the understanding that life has been successful.
