The exhibition "Empire Time" is timed to the 200-year-old victory anniversary in the Patriotic War of 1812. Moscow Region Tsarskaya Residence "Kolomenskoye" Two centuries ago became a direct witness of historical events. She experienced all the Napoleonic invasions. Parts of the French army were placed here, the churches were desecrated and looted. In 1825, on this territory there was a rarest sample of the art of the Russian Ampury - Alexander I Palace, created by the Russian architect by Evgraffic Tyurin. The pavilion preserved to our time is a fluel of this palace, which houses the exhibition "Time of Ampury", has become its organic part.
Ampire, born in France at the turn of the XVIII-XIX centuries and designed to approve the idea of the imperial greatness, unusually pronounced himself in one country - Russia. After the victory in the Patriotic War of 1812 and the expulsion of Napoleonic troops, this style, which demonstrated a certain peculiarity here, expressed his rise to the national self-consciousness. Exhibits relating to the Russian palace and manor appearance, clearly show that this period is not accidentally called the "golden age of" of Russian culture.
Painting and graphics, furniture and bronze, porcelain and glass are presented at the exhibition, porcelain and glass are magnificent samples of the Russian and French art of the past centuries. The names of their authors, among which - P.-F. Tomir, J.-F.-H. Svebach, Karl Rossi, testify to the high artistic level of the presented exposure. There are also such items that were demonstrated in 1912 at the exhibition "1812 year" in the walls of the Russian Historical Museum, and now, after a hundred years, they have already become available for visitors again. A special role is played by the assembly of bronze watches, which was reflected in the name of the exhibition. Their complex sculptural compositions demonstrate to us, in particular, real historical characters, among whom - the poet Lord Byron and Yevgeny Bogarne.
In addition to our museum, the exhibits provided the Museum-Manor Ostankino, the Museum of A. S. Pushkin, as well as the largest galleries and private collectors of Moscow and St. Petersburg. Thanks to this, we see the works usually inaccessible to a wide visitor. Thus, we fulfill our main mission here: not only to maintain our cultural heritage, but also to constantly acquaint visitors with those treasures that are closed in our daily life. We are grateful to our partners who granted us their priceless exhibits, and contributed to the creation of this representative and significant exhibition
