Lyubov Fedorovna Voronkova (1906–1976) was a classic of Russian literature, the author of many novels and stories that captivated readers of all ages for generations. The writer became particularly famous for her historical works, especially the books about the life of Alexander the Great: the novels "Son of Zeus" and "In the Depths of Centuries" are perhaps one of the most vivid biographies of the great military leader, city destroyer, and land conqueror who proclaimed himself the son of a god. The novel "In the Depths of Centuries" tells about the grand campaigns and battles of Alexander the Great, his love for the young princess Roxana, and the birth and fall of the vast Macedonian empire. The novel is accompanied by classic illustrations by the famous Soviet artist and graphic designer Igor Ilyinsky.
