The book begins as an adventure novel, gradually turning into a romance of catastrophes, where everyday interferes with fantastic.
The six main characters find a “matrix of languages”, gain the ability to speak all languages of the world and hurry to endow this ability as many people as possible, believing that an invaluable gift will lead to universal happiness and prosperity. But humanity, carried away by civil strife, is not ready for an accidental gift, and he, on the contrary, puts the very existence of the world under the jeopardy. Heroes undergo a number of tests: some participate in a reality show, others are rapidly unfolding a business, others run to the edge of the Earth from aggression, which suddenly covered all continents.
In the final, the heroine, in spite of everything, remaining in St. Petersburg, having lost faith in the ability to make the world better, returns the gift-and then the miracle nevertheless happens
