The two novels presented in this book open the cycle of the fantastic works of Dann Yangson about the adventures of Colonel Alexander Kryzhanovsky - a professional intelligence officer and a doctor during the Great Patriotic War on the territory of Nazi Germany and occupied Europe.
Colonel Kryzhanovsky enters the 12th department of Toya (difficult to explain phenomena), created at the NKVD of the USSR. This department was engaged in the study and use of various inexplicable technical and mystical phenomena (Nazi UFOs, the flight of the Nazis into space, the Nazis calling the shadows of the Master of the Teutonic Order of Andreas von Belven, the creation of a golem, climatic weapons, walking tanks, an exploration expedition to a new mop etc), and from 1940 to 1945, he actively opposed the Nazi occult organization "Anenerbe"
