A multilateral study of racism is carried out in the book, its various manifestations and regional options are analyzed, its development is traced in the XX century: from the traditional biological to modern cultural racism. The problems of racism in modern Russia are investigated and its causes and roots are analyzed. The main attention is paid to the ideology and practice of racism in Russia of the late XX - early XXI century. The features of modern scientific racism (ethnos biologicalization) and public racial discurses are analyzed, the racialization of the "strangers" is shown, the features of modern racist ideologies are considered, including the return of old (biological) racism, the trends of the development of xenophobia are traced.
