A work written in 1924 on a roll of newspaper paper - due to the absence of ordinary paper, on the floor - due to the absence of a table, became a new myth and brought fame to its creator - writer Yuri Karlovich Olesha.
The adventures of the fairy tale characters - the fearless tightrope walker Tibul, the little dancer named Suok, the courageous weaponsmith Prospero, and the kind doctor Gaspar Arneri - touch the hearts of many generations of readers. The daring feats of the novel's heroes, their bravery, honesty, and loyalty to friendship helped the people overthrow the despotic rule of the Three Fat Men and let goodness and justice triumph over deceit and heartlessness.
In his author's project, artist Mikhail Bychkov created a special fairy-tale space on the pages of the book, remarkably harmonious with Y. Olesha's text. His illustrations bring magic and festivity to the fairy tale and give the reader a whole world of colors.
In 2024, the fairy tale novel "Three Fat Men" will celebrate its hundredth anniversary, and its author will be one hundred and twenty-five years old. This is a reason to republish one of the famous Russian fairy tales of the 20th century.
