The historical novel describes events that take place at the dawn of the 12th century in Kievan Rus. At the center of the narrative is the figure of Prince Andrey Bogolyubsky, a legendary hero of history who moved the capital of Rus from the tsar-grad of Kiev to the city of Vladimir on the Klyazma River. The events described in the book are preceded by the history of the prince. The author finds an explanation for historical mysteries and offers a truthful narrative based on the study of chronicles of the life of Great Rus. The reader is presented with authentic events of that time, as well as remarkable characterizations of the heroes. The sense of presence runs as a common thread throughout the narrative. The events of that time intertwine with modernity, as in the famous novel "The Master and Margarita." The connecting link becomes the image of a businessman artist who does not anticipate that he will uncover the great mysteries of Ancient Rus. The figure of the first king of the land of Rus and his exploits will not leave readers indifferent. In light of current events between Russia and Ukraine, the book may have great significance, as it reveals historical facts indicating the already emerging conflict and the importance of Andrey Bogolyubsky in the history of Rus. A similar work released in Russia is "The Secret of the Three Sovereigns."
