Author during the war years fought in the ranks of Soviet partisans in Belarusian and Lithuanian forests. He was awarded orders and medals. In 1948 he participated in the war for the independence of Israel. He taught the history of Tel Aviv University, published a number of research on Hebrew, Russian and English. Director of the Memorial Center "Yad Your" in Jerusalem (1972-1993)
