The manual discusses the problems of the theory of training in foreign languages (linguodidactic basis of teaching) in the context of general education and higher education. It summarizes the modern experience of teaching one of the sections of the course of the methods of foreign languages - the theory of learning language - from the position of basic disciplines for the methodology: pedagogy, psychology, linguistics, sociology, cultural studies, taking into account the professional needs of the reader.
