More than 400 tasks are provided that can be used for classroom and independent student activities in disciplines related to welding. The main focus is on issues of thermal efficiency of welding heat sources, thermal processes during welding, and their use for optimizing welding modes. A number of tasks are dedicated to the requirements for maintaining welding mode accuracy, the interaction in the "arc - power source" system. The peculiarities of electrode melting in various fusion welding methods are highlighted. Many of the tasks are interdisciplinary in nature and should be solved using computer programs, examples of which are provided in the appendix.
