The textbook consists of two modules: I) Theoretical foundations of commodity science and II) commodity examination. They consider the theoretical foundations of commodity studies and commodity expertise: the basic concepts, goals, objectives, principles, objects, subjects, means, methods of commodity and expert activities. In addition, in the first module, the fundamental commodity characteristics are analyzed in detail: assortment, qualimetric and quantitative, and quantitative, and also providing factors that provide them. In the second module, along with the indicated elements of expert activity, the procedure for organizing and conservation of commodity examination is given. For university students studying at the level of undergraduate in the areas of “commodity science” of all profiles, and the first textbook - for all profiles of the “trade business” direction. The textbook can be useful for graduate students and trading workers: managers and specialists of wholesale and retail organizations
