To mark the 250th anniversary of the decree of Empress Elizabeth Petrovna from August 30, 1756, "On the Establishment of a Russian Theater for the Presentation of Tragedies and Comedies," the publishing house Tonchu, in collaboration with the State Central Theater Museum named after A. A. Bakhrushin, released a book titled "Theatrical Moscow in Photographs." The book consists of two parts: the first part showcases theaters that emerged in the first third of the 19th to the early 20th centuries and are still in existence today, while the second part features theaters that appeared in the late 19th to early 20th centuries but have since ceased operations. The publication opens with the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, the main theater of our country. Subsequently, all theaters are presented in each part in a chronological order. The 100-year theatrical history of Moscow from the 1850s is depicted in the album with exceptional documents - photographs from the collection of the State Central Theater Museum named after A. A. Bakhrushin.
