This book is about Leopold Antonovich Sulerzhitsky (1872-1916) - a public and theater figure, a director who is better known as an assistant to K.S. Stanislavsky for the teaching and popularization of his system. He was close to L.N. Tolstoy, A.P. Chekhov, M. Gorky, with many actors and figures of the theater.
Having no theater education, "Suler", as everyone called him, gave his life to the theater, carrying out the finds of Stanislavsky and correlating them with the capabilities of the actors and each performance. He is one of the organizers and leaders of the 1st studio of the Moscow Art Theater.
