The book is the sixteenth volume in a series dedicated to the White Movement in Russia, and it tells about the initial stage of the White struggle in the East of Russia, understanding the East in this case as the Volga, the Urals, and Western Siberia. This period was characterized by the actions of officer organizations in major cities of these regions and the Czechoslovak Corps. It was during this time that figures of the White movement such as V.O. Kappel, P.P. Ivanov-Rinov, A.N. Grishin-Almazov, N.N. Kazagrandi, A.N. Pepelyaev, and others made themselves known and gained fame. Special attention is paid to the Izhevsk-Votkinsk anti-Bolshevik uprising and the subsequent battles of the residents of Izhevsk and Votkinsk. Combat actions are described against the backdrop of the political actions of the Komuch, the Ufa Directorate, the Temporary Siberian Government, up to the assumption of supreme command by Admiral Kolchak, that is, from May to November 1918. The book is supplemented with extensive and previously unpublished comments containing several hundred unknown biographical notes about the authors and heroes of the essays. Compiled by S.V. Volkov.
