David Lloyd George was the Prime Minister of Great Britain from 1916 to 1922. A close friend of Winston Churchill, who was part of the English government during the First World War. As Lloyd George candidly admits in his memoirs, the English government, on one hand, was interested in having the Russian armies continue fighting Germany, but on the other hand, aimed to prevent the strengthening of Russia and actively interfered in its internal affairs for its own purposes. This dual policy led to the demise of the Russian Empire, after which Lloyd George supported military intervention against Bolshevik Russia and its blockade, with the fate of Russia to be determined by the Supreme Council of the Allies.
