Book album "War of the Russian People with Napoleon. 1812 Reproduces, but not in reprint, the gift jubilee publication, who came out exactly a hundred years ago, by the Victory Cencle over the French, in St. Petersburg in the publishing house F. F. Marks.
The text is written by the famous Russian historian of his time Ivan Nikolayevich Bozhershanov, who in detail, sometimes in the smallest details, describes the course of war and the victory of Russian weapons over the greatest army of Europe.
The decoration of the book was performed by the famous Russian artist Lvir Evgrafovich Dmitriev-Caucasian, recognized by the master of engraving and book illustration. The artist"s work was a contribution to the flourishing of the Russian book illustration of the beginning of the twentieth century.
The narrative is accompanied by a large number of illustrations in the text and on separate sheets. Originals for reproductions are taken with rare engravings and paintings of the beginning of the XIX century.
The book is replete with portraits of French and Russian commander, politicians, military, monarchs, the central place among whom Alexander I and Napoleon are occupied.
