I wrote this book a young sailor, who recently returned from the three-year swimming on the northern eagle frigate. From the swimming of its own, he made the design of the three-language marine dictionary (which will soon be created and serve as a Russian fleet for many decades) - and the idea of translation into Russian one of the first children"s books in the world.
After all, only in a matter of years before the several German writers and teachers decided that for children you need to create special books, and not just redoing and simplifying adult books for them. The first such book, published in 1776, is considered the written "friend of children", and the second is the very work of I. G. Kampa "Children"s Library". Russian "translation" went out only four years after the publication of the German prototype.
Only refer to his translation needed with great reservations. After all, just in the course of the case of shishkov and created the language of Russian literature for children: he developed in it a simple, almost "common syllable - and at the same time the syllable and sublime, energetic, progressive, but at the same time heart, touching, syllable Jock, mischievous - and, at the same time, full of important thoughts and serious reflection.
Nobody wrote to Shishkova in Russia.
Prepared according to the first publication of the book "Children"s Library ..." (SPb, 1783, 1785).
Illustrations from the first and last edition (St. Petersburg, 1842) are used.
During publication, some features of punctuation, spelling and wording of the Hiiith century are preserved.
