The main topic of the book is a very particular interest in the hero of the novel Ya. Gashek in Russia during the Great Patriotic War. It includes stories about Swiss written by writers and journalists - participants in the defense of Sevastopol, Leningrad and Stalingrad. Presented as plays about the adventures of the brave soldier, who were in the repertoire of professional and front-line theatrical groups and the scripts of Kinokartin about Schwek, the premiere shows of which were held in 1941-1943. Also in the book included diary records, letters, memories of the participants of the war, plot narrations, poems, theater and film holders of that time. Most of the published texts are taken from front-line newspapers, which were later not reprinted, or from the funds of the Russian state archive of literature and art and is published for the first time. The book complements the drawings of artists who illustrated the stories about the new adventures of Swiss, and photographs of those years in the war years
