1933. The Lower Polish region is in turmoil. Popular discontent is growing. The kulaks are raging. Thousands of resettlers are fleeing. Peasants are collapsing from malnutrition and lack of sleep. There are reports of cannibalism and warehouse looting.
It all started when some people with a mandate from the head of the agricultural department of the party's regional committee, Golovchenko, began to roam the villages. Citing his orders, they systematically took away the peasants' food supplies. And no one knows where this agricultural produce ultimately disappeared to. It is nowhere to be found in the region or on the collective farms. It's as if it evaporated. Just like Golovchenko himself.
A group of Chekists from the OGPU, led by hardened fighters Bolshakov, Rusakov, and Lifshitz, are assigned an extremely dangerous operation.
