The book is intended for specialists in developmental biology, evolutionary theory, as well as sociologists and mathematicians interested in the problems of development of various communities based on division of labor. A version of a formalized theory of regular development in biological and social systems is proposed. The basis of the theory is a quantitative analysis of the interdisciplinary aspect of the division of labor procedure. Parameters are proposed for quantitative description, measurement, and forecasting of the development of such units. Their natural system is constructed, resembling a periodic table. Examples of using the theory for measuring the development of biological and social systems are given, demonstrating its heuristic nature.
