Valery Mikhailovich Levitsky (1886–1946) - one of the leaders of the Kyiv city committee of the Cadet Party, an active participant in the political group, headed by V.V. Shulgin and P.B. Struve, editor of the newspaper Great Russia. Over the years of the revolution and the Civil War, he managed to visit many cities: Kyiv, Petrograd, Moscow, Zhitomir, Odessa, Yekaterinodar, Rostov-on-Don, Novorossiysk, Feodosia, Sevastopol. His book, published in full for the first time, describes both the everyday life of the inhabitants of the South of Russia and the mood of the party-political circles and officers of the White Army. In apt expression V.V. Shulgina, this is a kind of notebook of a tourist of the revolution. The publication is intended for both specialists and a wide range of readers interested in the history of the Civil War
