"History of Ikbala" is a novel about the life of Ikbala Masiha, the Pakistani boy paid to slavery and has become activist and human rights activist. Ikbal is a twelve-year-old teenager who knew that his life costs more than the most beautiful carpet that the endless chains of children who workers without relaxing from the machines are incorrect and that there is a way to stop violence. He was killed in 1995 at the age of twelve.
The history of Ikbala Masiha is told on behalf of Fatima, Pakistani girl, whose life has changed due to the courage of Ikbala. For Fatima and other children from the Khussein-Khan carpet factory, the appearance of an inflexible adolescent has become the beginning of something new. It was Ikbal who gave them to understand that the debt of their family will never be paid, regardless of how many inches of the carpet they will wear a day, how carefully will be their work or how perfect drawing. And it was Ikbal who helped them see the future. "Fatima, when I return, - he said then, - we will run the air snake every day!"
