Vorontsov-Veliminov Nikolai Nikolaevich belonged to the ancient noble family. The son of the Life Guards Lieutenant, the landowner of the Tula province. He served in the Moscow provincial rule as a translator, in 1858-61 - assistant to the senior secretary (college assessor) In 1852-53 he printed in the magazine "Moskvityan" articles on hunting topics, several small stories about hunting in the Moscow Region. Since February 1859, he was the editor of the political and literary newspaper "Moscow Bulletin"
