On April 27, 2006, the State Duma was 100 years old. This is an outstanding anniversary in the history of Russia, the history of the formation of Russian parliamentarism.
October 17, 1905 - a fateful date for Russia. In the midst of All-Russian political strikes throughout the country, Emperor Nicholas II, instead of the introduction of an unlimited military dictatorship, for the suppression of Discharge chose the path of the indigenous reorganization of the country, signing the manifesto "on the improvement of state order. Manifesta declared about the "adamant will" monarch "to give the population the unshakable foundations of civil liberties on the basis of the actual immunity of the individual, freedom of conscience, words, meetings and unions.
Already four months after the famous October Manifesta, the All-Russian election in the First State Duma has become possible. On April 27, 1906, a meeting of the Russian State Duma of the first convocation was held in the unique hall of the Tauride Palace of St. Petersburg. The composition of the deputies of the Duma was allocated and multinational alone.
Not putting a goal to analyze the activities of the State Duma, it is noted only that the deputies of the first, second, third and fourth pre-revolutionary state Duma managed to do a lot both for the development of the Russian legislation of the beginning of the 20th century, and for the formation of parliamentary practice in our country
