This publication, like other books by the author, is addressed to literature teachers. The book examines such realities as capitals, provincial towns, villages, and estates through the prism of artistic language of the 19th century. The book opens with an essay about Russia and concludes with discussions about real and metaphysical roads. The main idea of the book is that Russia is always in motion, striving towards the future, but this requires preserving the memory of the past. One of the tasks of artistic literature is to preserve this memory.
