It tells about national shrines kept in the First Throne City, about great princes, saints, outstanding pastors, state and public figures who, with the life-giving power of the Orthodox faith, transformed the history of our homeland. Using Moscow as an example, L.G. Petrushina traces the history of Russia, considering it in inseparable connection with the Russian Orthodox Church and convincingly shows that the Orthodox Christianity inherited from Byzantium, which is the foundation of Russian civilization and culture, remains to this day an unshakable basis of our people's values.
