The book is the twelfth volume in a series dedicated to the history of the White Movement in Russia and the stay of General P.N. Wrangel's Russian Army in camps in Gallipoli and other places during the first year after its evacuation from Crimea at the end of 1920. It depicts the tragedy of the Russian soldiers' situation, when they had to struggle with hunger, cold, heat, diseases, and the hostility of former allies. Nevertheless, Wrangel and his circle (primarily Kutepov, Kusonsky, Shatilov), making incredible efforts, managed to preserve the most reliable and well-prepared personnel of their army and prepared it for relocation to Bulgaria and Yugoslavia. The book is supplemented with extensive and previously unpublished comments containing several hundred unknown biographical notes about the authors and heroes of the essays.
