For three hundred and four years, the Romanov dynasty ruled Russia. Throughout this time, the country carefully monitored the health of the crowned individuals. And it's understandable, as the well-being of the tsar or emperor directly affected the prosperity of every citizen and the empire itself. However, the Romanovs were not long-lived - none of them lived past the age of 70. Some perished at a young age, some died violent deaths, and the majority passed away due to chronic illnesses - congenital or acquired. We know a lot about the glorious and not so glorious deeds of each monarch - about strengthening the state, court intrigues, and wars that accompanied their reign. But very little is known (except for some high-profile cases) about how the members of the dynasty passed away. The goal of this book is to tell the story of how the Romanovs died and what the process was like. This publication is recommended for a wide range of readers.
